Matt is one of the country’s most in-demand satirists, having recently appeared on Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report (BBC Two), Mock the Week (BBC2 Two), 8 out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Question Time (BBC One), This Week (BBC One), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three) and The Royal Variety Performance 2015He co-hosts talkSPORT’s Saturday football show The Warm-Up, with Jon Richardson. In 2014 he also starred alongside Jon  in Channel 4’s Jon Richardson Grows Up.

Matt is also the host of a sell-out monthly political show, The Political Party, at the St James’ Theatre at which he performs up-to-the-minute political stand-up, followed by a wide-ranging interview with a leading politician; previous guests have included Tony Blair, Nigel Farage, Dame Tessa Jowell and Michael Portillo. He will return to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 with his new show, It’s My Political Party (and I’ll Cry If I Want To).

2015 saw Matt take his sell-out, critically-acclaimed 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show 24-Hour Political Party People for a week-long run at the Soho Theatre as well as tour it nationwide. He returned to the Edinburgh Festival with his new show, Get the Political Party Started, which enjoyed a sell-out run in the prestigious Cabaret Bar, before going on to run for a week at Soho Theatre.

Matt’s monthly residency in London, The Political Party, sells-out Westminster’s St James’ Theatre. Alongside Matt’s trademark topical current affairs stand-up, the show brings Parliament to life as he interviews some of politics’ most notorious figures, past guests have included Tony Blair, Alastair Campbell, Nigel Farage, Michael Portillo, Dame Tessa Jowell, John Prescott, Alan Johnson, David Davis, Stella Creasy, Jack Straw and George Galloway. The show is also released as a podcast which has amassed over 100,000 downloads on Soundcloud, hit the top spot of the iTunes comedy chart, was picked as the Daily Telegraph’s podcast of the week, and was nominated for the Internet Award in the 2015 Chortle Awards. He subsequently launched a spin-off show The Sports Party which interviews sporting figures alongside celebrity fans and is broadcast on talkSPORT.  Previous guests have included Jimmy Bullard, Eric Hall, Dave Bassett, Jon Richardson and Romesh Ranganathan.

As a writer Matt has worked regularly on 8 out of 10 Cats (C4), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3), The Last Leg (C4) and Stand Up for the Week (C4).

Matt hosts a weekly radio show with Jon Richardson on talkSPORT; The Warm Up takes a lighthearted look at the weekends football fixtures each Saturday from 11am-1pm. Matt can also be heard on the radio on The Now Show and The News Quiz (both on BBC Radio 4). Matt regularly reviews the newspapers for Sky News and has contributed to features on ITV’s evening news.
